The company provides quality education for the children of employees in plantations, established and manages 59 private schools from kindergarten to secondary education, as well as operating 11 Public Elementary Schools (SDN) owned by the Government within the plantation. A total of 70 schools consisting of 37 kindergartens (TK), 24 Elementary Schools (SD) and 9 Junior High Schools (SMP) exist within the plantation.

In the beginning of 2017, the number of students attending school in the plantaion is 12,889 students, with 9,510 students enrolled in private schools established and managed by the Company and 3,379 students enrolled in public schools that receive operational support from the Company.

Scholarship of achievement is a scholarship given to students based on their academic achievements in school, ranging from elementary, junior high, high school / trade school all the way to tertiary education. Up to September 2017 the Company has awarded a scholarship of achievement to 1,047 students.

Until September 2017 the company has maintains 192 state schools (government schools) starting from kindergarten, elementary, junior high school and high school / trade school. 11 schools of are Public Elementary Schools (SDN) which is located in the Cultivation Right Title (HGU) of the company, which designed specifically to have to 59 quality Astra Agro Lestari Foundation (YAAL) private schools.

Education Program for Indigenous Peoples

Up to September 2017, the Corporate Education CSR program for Indigenous peoples in Jambi has provided educational services to children in the Indigenous peoples community called Orang Rimba, consisting of kindergarten age, elementary school age, and junior high school/high school age. Furthermore, the education program for indigenous communities of the Bunggu Tribe in Mamuju – West Sulawesi contributes to the improvement of the quality of education for children in the indigenous communities of the Bunggu Tribe as well as the provision of scholarship assistance.
